RESPONSIBLE FOR:                         Second Secretary

                                                         Third Secretary             

SALARY BAND:                                B7 – B9 plus allowances

JOB SUMMARY

The post holder will be responsible for all matters relating to consular affairs.  Will be the principal liaison officer for all Consular and Diaspora affairs, provide advice and assistance in respond to general enquiries and request from other Government, Ministries/Departments, non-governmental and private agencies/organisation and the general public.

OBJECTIVES, KEY TASK AND PROJECTS

  • Generally, to coordinate and facilitate assistance of the general public and be in constant liaison with Foreign Countries on consular and diaspora issues.
  •  To engage with other relevant organizations (i.e. IOM, UNHCR) for mutual development benefit with a view to promote both investment opportunities in the country and protection and welfare of the diaspora
  •  To assist in the preparation of policy papers, procedures and assessments
  •  To develop and maintain a database for the Diaspora (on Seychellois nationals living abroad);
  •  Be the liaison person with local MDAs for the implementation, monitoring and management of projects from Honorary Consuls

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

  •  Master’s Degree in International Studies or Master’s Degree in Public Relations or equivalent plus five (5) years satisfactory work experience in Diplomacy or related field.
