President Wavel Ramkalawan sends a congratulatory message to His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Abu Dhabi

Following the appointment of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan as the President of the United Arab Emirates and the Ruler of Abu Dhabi, President Wavel Ramkalawan has extended a message of congratulations on behalf of the Government and the people of the Republic of Seychelles.

In his message, President Ramkalawan said, “I am confident that you will continue the legacy of His Late Highness Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founding father of the United Arab Emirates, in forging the UAE into a global leader of change and advocate of progress and prosperity. I believe that under your stewardship, you will bring the UAE to new heights through exemplifying the virtues of good leadership and a people-centered approach to progress and development. I wish to assure you of my full support and that of my Government as you usher in this new era.”

He added, “Seychelles and the UAE share excellent relations based on mutual respect and strengthened over the years through fruitful collaboration in bilateral matters, as well as in international fora. In facing global challenges together, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, we have deepened our bond of friendship and our ability to work together to overcome adversity.”

The President reiterated in his message that the United Arab Emirates is an important partner and trusted friend of Seychelles and that he is looking forward to continue to working with His Highness to exploit the vast potential which exists to further the cooperation between the two countries.

Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan was elected the President of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Abu Dhabi on 14th May 2022, following the passing of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan yesterday.
