Accreditation of new Seychelles High Commissioner to the United Kingdom

The new Seychelles High Commissioner to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Mr Derick Ally was accredited to the Court of St James’s this morning after presenting his credentials to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in a ceremony at Buckingham Palace.

During the Audience with The Queen, Mr Ally conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from President Danny Faure and the people of Seychelles and also congratulated The Queen on attaining her Sapphire Jubilee. Mr Ally also briefed The Queen on the recent developments in Seychelles.

On her part, The Queen conveyed her warm wishes of prosperity and happiness to the government and people of Seychelles and recalled with much pleasure her visit in 1972. The Queen also expressed her appreciation for Seychelles efforts in continuing to uphold the values of the Commonwealth. The United Kingdom has over the years remained a close partner of Seychelles and Mr Ally reiterated the Seychelles Government’s desire to further strengthen this partnership.

Mr Ally was accompanied at this ceremony by the Principal Counsellor in the High Commission, Mrs Lalatiana Accouche, and Ms Tinaz Wadia, Commercial Attaché and STB Manager for London.

Ambassador Derick Ally was appointed Ambassador of Seychelles in September 2014 and he took up his posting in London in January this year.
