Accreditation of Seychelles Ambassador to the Kingdom of Denmark

The new Seychelles Ambassador to the Kingdom of Denmark, Ambassador Derick Ally presented his credentials to Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II on Friday 25 October 2019 at a ceremony at Amalienborg Palace in Copenhagen.

Queen Margrethe II was very interested in the work that Seychelles is doing in environmental protection and Ambassador Ally briefed her on several initiatives that Seychelles are working on in this field. The Queen expressed her appreciation for the leadership of President Faure and the people of Seychelles in this regard. Queen Margrethe II also expressed her appreciation for the valuable cooperation between Denmark and Seychelles in the area of maritime security in the Indian Ocean.

Ambassador Ally also met with high ranking officials in the Danish Foreign Ministry where he discussed possible cooperation between Seychelles and Denmark. He thanked the Danish authorities for their assistance to Seychelles in the fight against piracy, and, on their part, the Danish authorities described Seychelles as a valuable partner and said that they are committed to remain engaged in the horn of Africa.

Ambassador Ally also visited, and had interactions with the leadership, of the Technical Education Copenhagen (TEC) Centre and the Centre for Drug Rehabilitation. Both institutions have expressed their willingness to share their experiences with the relevant authorities in Seychelles and would welcome visits to their institutions by their Seychellois counterparts.
