Ambassador Conrad Mederic presented his Letters of Credence to H.E. Mr Nasser Bourita, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates of the Kingdom of Morocco on 12th March 2025.
During their meeting, Ambassador Mederic recognised the longstanding relations between Seychelles and Morocco, established in December 1988. The Minister and Ambassador Mederic acknowledged that there’s much that the two countries can do together to elevate their level of cooperation in key sectors like health, tourism, education, cooperation in the civil sector, renewable energy amongst others.
Ambassador Mederic commended Morocco for their expertise and excellence in sports such as football and noted the possibility for the two countries to collaborate in this field through a Memorandum of Understanding. Ambassador Mederic also took the opportunity to follow up on a Visa Waiver Agreement which will allow Seychellois nationals to visit Morocco without prior requirements for a Visa. The Minister agreed to expedite this matter with his counterparts.
With a keen interest in further strengthening the Bilateral Relations between the two countries, Ambassador Mederic proposed the possibility of collectively exploring cooperation in new areas of mutual interest which could ultimately culminate in a Joint Commission.
