Ambassador – designate of the Sultanate of Oman pays courtesy visit to Minister Sylvestre Radegonde

This morning, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Tourism, Mr. Sylvestre Radegonde met with Ambassador – designate of the Sultanate of Oman, H.E. Ali bin Abdullah bin Salirn Al Mahmqi. Ambassador Al Mahmqi is expected to present his credentials to the President of the Republic of Seychelles, Mr. Wavel Ramkalawan on 18th May 2021 at State House, accrediting him as the as the new non-resident Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Republic of Seychelles.

 

Minister Radegonde extended a warm welcome to Ambassador Al Mahmqi and congratulated him on his appointment as Ambassador to the Republic of Seychelles. Both parties agreed to strengthen cooperation in various fields such as Tourism, Blue Economy and Fisheries amongst others. They also spoke of the interest to increase connectivity between the two countries through their national airlines.

 

Present at the meeting were Principal Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Vivianne Fock Tave, senior officials of the Foreign Affairs Department and Mr. Frank Hoareau, Honorary Consul of the Sultanate of Oman in Seychelles.

 

Seychelles and the Sultanate of Oman established bilateral relations in 1983.
