During their meeting, the Director-General congratulated Ambassador Moumou on his accreditation and for being the first Seychelles Permanent Representative to IRENA. He expressed his eagerness to continue the good working relationship with Seychelles.

Ambassador Moumou, on his part, expressed Seychelles’ appreciation for the remarkable work that IRENA has been doing since its inception in 2009 and the significant progress it has achieved under the leadership of the Director-General. He took the opportunity to congratulate the Director-General on his reappointment at the helm of IRENA, attributing it to his hard work and dedication to the renewable energy cause.

Ambassador Moumou and the Director-General also discussed Seychelles’ participation in two upcoming significant events: the 14th Session of the IRENA Assembly, scheduled to take place on 16 April 2024, in Abu Dhabi, and the 4th International Conference for Small Island Developing States (SIDS), set to be held from 27 to 30 May 2024 in Antigua and Barbuda.
