Ambassador of Italy pays a courtesy call on the Minister of Foreign Affairs

His Excellency Mr. Alberto Pieri, Ambassador of Italy accredited to Seychelles, paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Foreign Affairs yesterday, Thursday 5th May 2022.
Minister Radegonde extended a warm welcome to Ambassador Pieri and highlighted the excellent relations between Seychelles and Italy. The Minister further emphasized Seychelles’ gratitude for Italy’s contributions to the development of the Indian Ocean region, particularly in regional security through Operation Atalanta, which conducts operations against piracy.
The Minister and the Ambassador agreed to strengthen collaboration in key sectors such as tourism, the Blue Economy, maritime security, trade, climate change and capacity building. Additionally, Ambassador Pieri expressed Italy’s desire to increase connectivity between the two countries through the ratification of the Bilateral Air Services Agreement that was signed in 2016.
Also present at the meeting were the Principal Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Vivianne Fock Tave, Director General for Bilateral Affairs, Ms Lindy Ernesta, Director General for Regional Affairs, Mr. Steve Lalande, Director General for Multilateral Affairs, Ms. Amanda Padayachy, Second Secretary, Ms. Zénab Kanté, and Third Secretary, Mr. Jean- Phillip Banane.
Ambassador Pieri is accredited to Seychelles but is based in Nairobi, Kenya.
