British High Commissioner donates 100 laptops

In an effort to help Seychelles during the COVID-19 pandemic, the British government through the resident High Commissioner H.E. Mr. Patrick Lynch, donated 100 laptops to the Seychelles government today at Maison Quéau de Quinssy. Minister Sylvestre Radegonde had the honour to accept this generous donation on behalf of the Government of Seychelles.

In his address, High Commissioner Lynch stated: “This is just the start of an exciting range of Seychelles-led initiatives that will be supported by UK Government in the coming months.”

On his part, Minister Radegonde thanked the High Commissioner for the kind donation and further reiterated that “These laptops will be supplied to government staff, especially those which are on the front line of the fight against COVID-19.”

The laptops which is part of a SCR2million COVID-19 support package to the Government of Seychelles, will be distributed to various government bodies ranging from frontline staff of the Ministry of Health, to staff in the Department of Tourism who are responsible for driving the post-COVID green-recovery of tourism.

Also present at the ceremony were the Principal Secretary of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Vivianne Fock Tave, Deputy British High Commissioner, Mr. Mathew Harper and Senior officials from the Foreign Affairs Department.
