Commemorative message by Minister Radegonde in celebration of OACPS Day

As we celebrate the first anniversary of the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS), we honour and show appreciation towards the strong partnership that has bound together a group of countries from across three different regions.
The OACPS is the culmination of over 45 years of unity and solidarity amongst its member states. From the legacy of our past and shared history, we have built an institution that optimistically searches to contribute towards a sustainable, prosperous and safe future for all.
The organisation reflects our continued endeavour to pursue areas of common and mutual interests. It is emboldened by our desire to build a fairer and more equitable world order.
On this day, we reaffirm our commitment to the OACPS. We acknowledge the need for a modern and proactive organisation that seeks to capitalise the momentum on the global stage to highlight the needs and vulnerabilities of our region.
We look forward to working with regional and international partners to enhance the work of the OACPS and leverage our force to promote multilateral cooperation and alliances.
We thank all of those at the secretariat of the OACPS who continue to work diligently to drive forward the ideals and agenda of our organisation. Your dedication and vitality are pivotal to the functioning of our organisation as we transform and restructure into an OACPS that is fit for purpose.
