Eastern African Standby Force recruits another Seychellois

Ms. Lina Hoareau has been appointed as the Head of Administration and Finance of the Eastern African Standby Force (EASF) Secretariat which is based in Nairobi, Kenya.
In addition to her masters’ level education in Leadership and Strategy and International Relations, Ms. Hoareau occupies 20 years work experience in the fields of Human Resources and Administration. She perceives her appointment as a great opportunity to work with diverse cultures. “I feel privileged to have the opportunity to work for an organization like EASF,” conveyed Ms. Hoareau, who is to be based at the Secretariat as of 21 August 2019.
The EASF is a regional organization whose mandate is to enhance peace and security in the Eastern Africa region. Seychelles is one of ten member states of EASF and has benefitted immensely from the organization since joining in 2004. Through Seychelles’ participation in multiple training exercises, workshops and conferences, the organization has continuously contributed and supported the capacity building of local officials from the military, police and other government agencies.
As Ms. Hoareau takes on her new post, she will be joining two other Seychellois currently based at the EASF Secretariat, namely the Information Manager, Jules Hoareau and the Head of the Civilian Component, Mr. Steve Lalande.
