EU Ambassador pays farewell visit to Secretary of State Faure

The European Union (EU) Ambassador to the Republic of Seychelles, H.E. Mrs. Marjaana Sall, paid a farewell visit to the Secretary of State of Foreign Affairs and of the Blue Economy, Ambassador Barry Faure, today at the Department of Foreign Affairs.

Ambassador Sall was accredited in November 2015 and during her four-year tenure, Seychelles benefited from several EU-funded projects which included a shelter for women victims of gender-based violence, the advancement of the Port Victoria Rehabilitation and Extension Project, and the Regional Coordination Operations Centre (RCOC), amongst others.

In expressing her gratitude to Ambassador Faure, Ambassador Sall said “It has been a pleasure working with Seychelles. I am sad to leave, but I am sure that the EU-Seychelles partnership will remain in good hands.”

Ambassador Faure took the opportunity to convey a few words of appreciation to the departing Ambassador in stating “I thank you excellency on behalf of the Department. We recognize the work that you have done in Seychelles and under your leadership the EU remained a good partner with an openness towards our specificities.”
