Farewell Call by Chargé d’Affaires Kato

The Chargé d’Affaires e.p. in the Japanese Embassy in Seychelles, Ambassador Eiji Kato, paid a farewell call on the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Tourism, Mr. Sylvestre Radegonde, on Tuesday 12th March 2024 at Maison Quéau de Quinssy.

Minister Radegonde seized the opportunity to express the gratitude of the Government of Seychelles for Japan’s invaluable contribution to the socio-economic development of Seychelles, namely infrastructure development in the fisheries sector, capacity building, and collaboration in the cultural field, among others.

The Seychelles Minister also acknowledged Ambassador Kato’s commitment in strengthening the bilateral relations between the two countries.

Both sides also discussed the EXPO 2025, which will be held in Osaka, the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD 9), and possible events to commemorate the establishment of 50 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries. Among the events discussed was the possible twinning between Victoria and a city in Japan.
