Indian naval commanders call on Secretary of State Barry Faure
A delegation of Indian naval commanders headed by Captain Varun Singh called on Secretary of State of Foreign Affairs and of the Blue Economy, Ambassador Barry Faure, on 8 April at the Department of Foreign Affairs.
The Indian commanders are here on board various indian naval ships, on a short stopover in Seychelles from 6 until 10 April.
Both sides discussed various on-going military cooperations between the two countries.
The delegation will be holding high level meetings with the Seychelles People’s Defence Forces during their short stay. The Indian military sailors will also be engaged in various social activities with soldiers from the SPDF.
The same indian naval ships were involved in humanitarian assistance and disaster relief works in Mozambique, in the wake of cyclone Idai which last month caused so much destruction and death in the African country.
