A delegation of Indian naval officers headed by Commander Kunal Towari, paid a courtesy call to Vice President Meriton today.

The Indian naval officers are here on a four-day visit on board the Indian navy ship Magar. The ship was previously in Mozambique carrying out humanitarian assistance and disaster relief operation, in the wake of the cyclone Idai which last month caused extensive damage in the African country.

Vice President Meriton thanked the delegation for their visit and for the continuous support in the areas of defence and maritime security from the Indian government.

During their stay, the delegation will meet with various authorities from the Seychelles government, including the Seychelles People’s Defence Forces.
