The Government of Seychelles welcomes the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, between Iran and the group of P5 + 1 countries, consisting of the 5 permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany, for the recent conclusion of the nuclear agreement for Iran.

“This agreement is a clear testament of the true powers of diplomacy in bringing together the parties involved to reach a common ground and find solutions in complicated cases such as this one. The Government of Seychelles sincerely hopes that the agreement will serve to bring about greater mutual understanding and cooperation on the multiple security challenges that the Middle East Region faces. We support all moves that provide for limiting, and non-proliferation of, nuclear weapons,” said the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Transport, Joël Morgan.

As member country of the Non-Proliferation Treaty and the International Atomic Energy Agency, Seychelles promotes the use of nuclear technology and materials for peaceful purposes only; such as for electricity production, medical use and food security. It fully supports the goal of achieving complete nuclear disarmament across the planet.
