Joint statement on the announcement of a safe travel corridor between the UAE and Seychelles for those with Covid-19 vaccine
As part of cooperation and coordination between the UAE and Seychelles and to move forward towards recovery from the repercussions of the Covid-19 pandemic crisis, a safe travel corridor has been adopted for fully vaccinated individuals in addition to mutual recognition of vaccination certificates issued by health authorities in the two countries. As of 13 May 2021, the quarantine-free travel corridor will ease the travel of vaccinated people holding vaccination certificates without the need to apply health quarantine requirements upon arrival, while abiding by other precautionary measures adopted at destination, which are updated to ensure a safe and secure travel for all under current circumstances.
The step confirms the keenness and determination of the leaderships of both countries to facilitate the movement of individuals and promote tourism between the two countries and achieve the desired goals of vaccination campaigns for different groups of society, which contributed to reaching advanced rates globally in the percentage of vaccine recipients to ensure the safety and health of community and prevent the spread of the pandemic.
As per the new rule, citizens and residents wishing to benefit from the quarantine-free travel corridor in both countries will be required to show evidence confirming that they have received the last dose of Covid-19 vaccine in accordance with the approved applications or certificates issued by health authorities. Travelers can also present the results of (PCR) laboratory test through these applications.
This partnership and strategic cooperation between the two countries is of high importance in light of the challenges encountering the world due to the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. This cooperation and coordination also supports the efforts of the two countries to combat and overcome the pandemic.
