Minister Joel Morgan engages with Zambia to conclude MoU’s to bolster ties as African nations

Following discussion held between the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Transport, Mr Joel Morgan and the Deputy Minister for Arts and Culture of the Republic of Zambia, Mrs Esther Banda both sides sought to deepen the ties, which exist between the two respective countries in the context of their adherence to regional organisations and principles of mutual respect as African states.
In a follow up letter addressed to Mrs Banda upon the conclusion of her visit, Minister Morgan expressed his satisfaction that the primary objectives of the visit had been realised considering that the two countries had concluded two memoranda of Understanding (MoU) and one Agreement under the culture umbrella, specifically the Agreement on Culture Cooperation, the MoU between our two Tourism Trading Academies and the MoU between our two National Arts Councils, all of which aim to promote greater collaboration and exchanges between both countries.
Minister Morgan expressed the desire that the signing of these agreements would give greater impetus to both the Republic of Seychelles and the Republic of Zambia to conclude further agreements in future notably with the signing of a Bilateral Air Services Agreement, an MoU on Political Consultations between the two respective Foreign offices and a General Cooperation Agreement which would further cement the relations that Seychelles has with Zambia.
Seychelles and Zambia are not only bound by history and culture, but our shared vision for the future through the Southern African Development Community (SADC) and the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA)means that we are bound by a common destiny,” remarked Minister Morgan.
