New High Commissioner Accredited to the UK

Mrs Marie-Pierre Lloyd, the Seychelles High Commissioner in London, has presented her Letters of Commission to her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, as the resident High Commissioner of the Republic of Seychelles to the United Kingdom, in a ceremony held at Buckingham Palace on 21st March.
During her audience with the Queen, the High Commissioner conveyed greetings and best wishes from President Michel and discussed the strong bilateral relations between the United Kingdom and Seychelles.
Among the areas discussed were piracy, and the strong support being shown by the UK in facing this scourge particularly in the areas of law enforcement, judicial support and capacity building in all related areas.
The High Commissioner cited the recent opening of the Regional Anti-Piracy Prosecution Intelligence Centre (RAPPIC) in Seychelles last month as “a demonstration of the solidarity existing between our countries and cooperative and collaborative approach which is required if we are to combat global challenges like piracy, international crimes , climate change”.
High Commissioner Lloyd took up her post in London in December 2012.
