Official visit of H.E. Mr. WU Banggu Chairman of the NPC Standing Committee of the People Republic of China to Seychelles

The Chairman of the NPC Standing Committee, H.E. Mr. WU Bangguo is to pay an Official visit to Seychelles later this month at the invitation of President James A Michel and Hon. Dr. Patrick Herminie, Speaker of the National Assembly. Mr. WU’s visit to Seychelles will be the last leg of a tour of 5 African countries and he is expected here from November 12 to 14.

Mr. WU will lead a large delegation comprising Mr. LI Jianguo, Vice-Chairman and currently Secretary-General of the Standing Committee of the NPC as well as other high-level dignitaries.

The announcement of the visit, following the visit of President HU Jintao early last year denotes the continued high level of friendship and esteem that exist between Victoria and Beijing.

During his visit, Mr. WU will pay a courtesy call on President James Alix Michel whereby the two countries will further enhance cooporation with the signing of an agreement on Economic and Technical Cooperation.

Mr. Wu will also engage in bilateral discussions with Dr. Herminie further to paying a visit to the National Assembly.

Site visits will also be conducted during Mr. Wu’s visit, in particular, that of the new National Assembly building currently being constructed at Ile Du Port.
