The Grand Anse Praslin Primary and Secondary Schools have received a donation of two interactive touch screens under the “Adopt a District” project.
Honorary Consuls, Mrs. Jana Stefankova, from Prague in the Czech Republic, and Mr. Farhad Vladi, from Hamburg in Germany, have partnered with businessman Mr. Vietezslav Machacek to contribute to the “Adopt a District” project. They focused on the educational sector, donating two interactive touch screens to the schools.
Minister Sylvestre Radegonde and Minister Rose-Marie Hoareau had the honour to officially present the two interactive touch screens to the headteachers of the Grand Anse Praslin Primary and Secondary Schools in a ceremony on Thursday, 4th May 2023.
Minister Radegonde commended the Honorary Consuls and businessman for their commitment towards the “Adopt a District” Project. “Through this gesture today, we are also making a long stride towards the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), notably SDG 4, which is the delivery of quality education and promotion of lifelong learning for all”.
In thanking the Honorary Consuls, sponsors, and stakeholders involved in materialising this project, Minister Hoareau reiterated the joint efforts by the Ministries to see this project come to fruition. “The Ministry of Local Government and Community Affairs and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Tourism continue to work on the realisation of commitments made by the Honorary Consuls and we look forward to other similar ‘Presentations of Sponsorship’ in other Districts in the near future”.
The continued support of the Honorary Consuls demonstrates their commitment to the communities in Seychelles and their dedication to the development of their adopted districts. This event is a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to bring the Honorary Consuls closer to the community.
