The President of the Republic of Maldives, H.E. Mr. Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, will arrive in Seychelles on 2 August 2019, on his first State Visit.

President Solih will be on a 2-day visit accompanied by a high level delegation, comprising three of his Ministers and other high level officials of the Maldivian Government. During his visit, President Solih will be meeting with President Danny Faure, whereby the two Presidents are expected to engage in a tete-a-tete and conduct bilateral discussions on various areas of cooperation namely tourism, blue economy, fisheries, youth and sports, amongst others.

Whilst in Seychelles, the President will also undertake several activities customary to all visiting Heads of State.

As small island states, Seychelles and Maldives share many challenges and concerns, hence this enhancement of bilateral relations is to benefit both countries mutually.

The two neighboring islands states originally established diplomatic relations in July 1980.
