SADC Consultant in Seychelles for Mid Term Review

A consultant from Southern African Development Community (SADC), Professor Bakari Mohammed is on a 2-day working visit in Seychelles from 24 to 25 April 2019, for a mid-term review of SADC programmes under implementation in the country. 

The primary purpose of his visit was to undertake a mid-term review of the Revised Regional Indicative Strategic Development Plan 2015-2020 and the Strategic Indicative Plan for the Organisation, both programmes currently being implemented.

Professor Bakari initially met with the SADC National Contact Point, the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and the Blue Economy, Ambassador Barry Faure before further meeting with other government officials to discuss key issues such as infrastructure, industry, trade, planning, agriculture and various social sectors.

On the final day of his visit, Professor Bakari met with the SADC Parliamentary Forum, headed by Speaker of the Assembly, Honorable Nicholas Prea and other members of the National Assembly, along with selected stakeholders from the private sector and civil society organizations to further discuss issues relevant to SADC programmes.
