Secretary of State Faure leads delegation to Nairobi for meeting of East Africa Standby Force

Secretary of State, Barry Faure was in Nairobi, Kenya leading the Seychelles delegation at the Policy Organs Meeting of the East Africa Standby Force Coordinating Mechanism.
The meeting was proceeded by the Group of Experts Meeting and Chiefs of Defence Meeting, both of which were attended by Lieutenant  Colonel Edwards Anacoura, Military Attache at Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Lieutenant Colonel Anacoura was in the Seychelles delegation
During the Kenya mission, Cabinet Secretary for Defence, Ambassador Raychelle Omamo of Kenya, led delegates to meet with kenyan President, Uhuru kenyatta. President Kenyatta spoke with conviction on the need for the region and the continent to take control of its peace and security as there was currently too much reliance on external partners.
Secretary of State Faure, noted “that as an outcome of the meeting Seychelles should be proactive and display a leadership role in EASFCOM in line with Seychelles’ Foreign policy objectives.
