Seychelles accredits first Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

The Republic of Seychelles accredits its first Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as Ambassador Dick Esparon presented credentials to King and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, Custodian of the two holy mosques His Highness Abdullah bin Abd-al-Aziz Al Saud-in Jeddah- Saudi Arabia on Friday 29th of August

Saudi Arabia is the largest country in the Arabian Peninsula. It is an oil- based economy with the largest crude oil reserves in the world. It ranks as the largest producer as well as largest exporter of petroleum in the world and plays a leading role in OPEC, producing approximately thirty percent of the total OPEC oil production.

Ambassador Esparon acknowledged that Seychelles’ accreditation to Saudi Arabia would accelerate negotiations for a Bilateral Air Service Agreement, which started in late 2012 and conclude a Double Taxation Agreement with Saudi Arabia.

Moreover Seychelles would work closely with the Seychelles Tourism Board to increase visitor arrivals from the Kingdom and intensify its efforts to raise capital from foreign direct investment.

In a meeting following the accreditation ceremony, His Highness King Abdullah bin Abd-al-Aziz Al Saud spoke of the effects of terrorism and pleaded for more support and action on the part of all countries and the International Community to fight terrorism in all its forms.
