Seychelles and Kuwait seek to enhance bilateral relations
The Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to the Republic of Seychelles, H.E. Mr. Mubarak Alsehaijan, was received on Tuesday 12th December 2023 by the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Tourism, Mr. Sylvestre Radegonde, at Maison Quéau de Quinssy.
The two diplomats discussed ways to enhance the cooperation between the two countries, including the possibility of signing a General Cooperation Agreement which will provide the mechanism for collaboration in various beneficial areas.
Ambassador Alsehaijan emphasised that Seychelles has the potential to benefit from investors from Kuwait, especially in the sectors of trade and tourism, by the initiating of a visit that could be organised by the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce in order for representatives of the private sector of the two countries to meet.
Cooperation in the field of tourism was also among the issues discussed and the two sides agreed that the renewal of the Bilateral Air Services Agreement between the two countries on 4th December 2023, during the ICAN meeting in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, will further increase people-to-people exchanges between the two countries. In this regard, Minister Radegonde pointed out that the negotiation of a Visa Waiver Agreement between Kuwait and Seychelles should be one of the priorities for the two countries.
