Seychelles and the EU enhance partnership through signing of financing agreement

The Minister for Foreign Affairs and Tourism, Mr. Sylvestre Radegonde and the Head of the European Union Delegation to the Seychelles, Ambassador Oskar Benedikt, signed the ‘European Solidarity Action with Seychelles’ (EnSEL) Financing Agreement on Tuesday 21st May 2024 at Maison Queau de Quinssy.

EnSEL (pronounced in Creole), is a Technical Cooperation Facility provided by the Neighbourhood, Development and International Cooperation Instrument (NDICI) which is the main financing tool of the European Union (EU) to contribute towards eradicating poverty and promoting sustainable development, prosperity, peace and stability.

Following the signing of the EnSEL, the two diplomats engaged on various priority areas which could be considered under EnSEL.

The Port Victoria Extension Project, the European Union List of Non-Cooperative Jurisdictions for Tax Purposes and the upcoming EU Political Dialogue were also discussed.

Ambassador Benedikt was accompanied by Resident French Ambassador, Olivia Berkeley-Christmann.
