Seychelles congratulates the new Executive Secretary of SADC- Dr. Stergomena Tax of United Republic of Tanzania

The Seychelles delegation at the SADC Summit has expressed its heartfelt congratulations to the newly appointed Executive Secretary of SADC, Dr. Stergomena Tax from the United Republic of Tanzania.

Dr. Tax’s appointment has been endorsed by the Summit which culminates the organisation’s recruitment process.

“As a nation that places great importance on having equitable gender participation in the economy and in decision making processes, we are delighted that Dr. Tax becomes the first woman to occupy the post of Executive Secretary.  We are confident that under her leadership, SADC will continue to advance the development of our region in a dynamic and sustainable manner,” Vice President Danny Faure, the Head of the Seychelles delegation, remarked following her appointment.

Vice President Faure also expressed Seychelles’ warmest congratulations and appreciation to outgoing Executive Secretary, Dr. Tomas Salomao, in his exceptional contribution to SADC and the ideals it represents.
