This annual event, attended by President Faure, is in recognition and appreciation for all the support accorded to the Department and to Seychelles from the Diplomatic and Consular Corps.

In his capacity as Minister of Foreign Affairs, Vice President Meriton delivered his opening address in expressing: “It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to this year’s annual diplomatic reception. We have had an eventful 2019 and your presence here testifies to the strong ties that Seychelles has with its bilateral partners. I would like to express our sincere gratitude for your unwavering support and collaboration.”

The reception also welcomed the newly designated Dean of the Diplomatic corps, H.E. Juan Humberto Marcias Pino, the Cuban ambassador to Seychelles.

“As Dean, I will ensure that the links between us, ambassadors based in Seychelles, non-resident ambassadors and other visiting dignitaries, are strengthened and well established so that, in unison we can continue to collaborate on matters of shared concern and interest” conveyed Ambassador Pino.
