From the 21 November 2016 this year Seychelles nationals will no longer need a visitor visa to travel to New Zealand for up to three months at a time.

Immigration New Zealand (INZ) General Manager, Peter Elms says, “This visa waiver will make it easier for Seychelles nationals to visit New Zealand.

This agreement recognises the growing relationship New Zealand has with the two countries and will create tourism and business opportunities.”

With this visa people can holiday and sightsee, visit family and friends and enjoy New Zealand as a visitor without the need to apply for a visa.

Health and character requirements still apply to all non-New Zealand visitors and people from visa waiver countries are still required to provide travel tickets or evidence of onwards travel arrangements and evidence of funds to support themselves while in New Zealand.

Minister for Foreign Affairs and Transport of the Republic of Seychelles, Mr Joël Morgan noted that this further demonstrates the strong relationship which exists between the two countries and is yet another step in helping to open up the world to all Seychellois. “This is also testimony to the faith that the country has in the the Government of Seychelles as well as its people; this waiver will increase connectivity, boost business and leisure possibilities but more importantly establish greater people to people links between our two states. ” said the Minister
