Seychelles receives a new grant from the People’s Republic of China
Mr Sylvestre Radegonde, the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Tourism, and H.E. Ms Lin Nan, the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Seychelles, have signed an Economic and Technical Cooperation Agreement for a grant of RMB 100 million (approximately SCR 200 million) on Thursday 17th April 2025, at Maison Queau de Quinssy.
The grant will be used to implement projects which will be mutually agreed upon by the two sides. The signing of the agreement comes after the bilateral meeting between President Wavel Ramkalawan and President Xi Jinping in the margins of the Summit for the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) held in September 2024.
The signing of this new grant agreement also reflects the excellent relations between the two countries, based on mutual understanding and respect.
