The Seychelles Government has taken note of the new US State Department Trafficking in Persons report 2013 and continues to question the methodology used in compiling the situational analysis at country level.

It is regrettable that the analysis uses generalized anecdotal evidence rather than informed research into the question.  However, the Government is pleased to inform that the steps identified in terms of updating the relevant legislation and reporting are already being addressed by the Committee on Human Trafficking; established by Cabinet Decision in 2012.
