Seychelles signs Minamata convention

Seychelles Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Marie-Louise Potter signed the Minamata Convention on Mercury behalf of the Republic of Seychelles at the United Nations headquarters in New York on the 27th of May.  Seychelles becomes the 98th signatory state to the Convention.

The convention is designed to protect both human health and the environment from anthropogenic emissions and releases of mercury and its compounds
