During a donation ceremony held last week at the prestigious Pangu 7 Star Hotel, Seychelles Ambassador to China, Mr. Philippe Le Gall, and the representatives of two major companies from Henan province, JIANYE GOUP and ZHENGZHOU SYNEAR FOOD CO.LTG, signed a donation agreement for a total amount of RMB 300.000 (US$ 47.000) to acquire musical instruments for Seychelles National Conservatoire of Performing Arts.

The decision to provide this assistance was taken during the visit of the Vice-Governor of Henan Province, Mr. SHI Jichun, in September, and followed discussions between the Minister for Social Development and Culture, Mr. Bernard Shamlaye, and Henan’s Vice Governor, Mrs. Kong, during Minister Shamlaye’s visit to Henan Province last year.

The donation was finalized between Seychelles’ Embassy, the Foreign Affairs Office of Henan Province and the two donating Henan-based companies on the 13th December, and according to Amb. Le Gall represents a successful and very promising example of triangular cooperation associating two Government agencies and the private sector.

This ceremony formed part of the Embassy’s activities to celebrate 35 years of diplomatic relations with China, and was attended by Mr. Wang Shiting, the Counselor of the Africa Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Mr. Guo Junfeng, Deputy Director General of the Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs office of the People’s Government of Henan Province, as well as many Chinese friends of Seychelles.
