Sylvestre Radegonde accredited as new Ambassador to Turkey

Seychelles Paris-based ambassador, Sylvestre Radegonde, has presented his credentials to the Turkish President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdo?an, as the new Ambassador of Seychelles to Turkey.

Turkey and Seychelles established diplomatic relations in 1995 and over the years the two countries have enjoyed bilateral cooperation in several areas.

It will be recalled that, apart for scholarships, Turkey’s recent assistance to Seychelles include the donation of a fully equipped ambulance, the refurbishment of the pediatric ward of the Seychelles Hospital as well as the provision of furniture for the Au Cap school.

As a member of NATO and as part of the Combined Maritime Forces (CMF), Turkey has been actively involved in the fight against piracy in the region.

President Erdo?an recognised Seychelles’ leadership role in environmental and climate change issues.

Ambassador Radegonde also held discussions with the President of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Mr. Mustafa ?entop as well as the Ankara Chamber of Commerce.

The Honorary Consul of Seychelles in Ankara, Mr. Mehmet Selvi, accompanied Ambassador Radegonde on the visit.
