She met with the Minister (FA), Ag. PS (VFT) and IIS (MAT).

The main aim was to personally and formally seek Seychelles’ support for Australia’s candidature to the UN Security Council.

The question of the benefits our re-entry into SADC was also raised.

Training and investment are the main benefits under Customs Union and it will also be easier to attract investors from SADC countries.

Seychelles will also be able to tap into scholarship opportunities and students who sponsor themselves will be able to access more favourable tuition costs.

The High Commissioner also stated that the Australian Ministry of Environment has announced a new fund for countries in the Pacific, particularly Small Islands Vulnerable States
