Legal adviser (Legislative Support and Law Reform) – Governance and Peace Directorate














Reporting to the Head of Rule of Law, the post-holder provides legal and policy advisory services to Commonwealth member countries.


The post-holder will be responsible for:

·   Providing leadership of the legislative support and law reform programme of RoL Section;


·   Taking direct responsibility for the results-based management of projects within their area of expertise and responsibility;


Delivering legal and policy advice and facilitating research and the development of legal policy either individually or as part of the RoL team.

A degree in law from a Commonwealth jurisdiction.


A minimum of ten years’ all round experience in the practice of law with clear evidence of experience at a senior level in:

·     Constitutional law

·     Administrative law

Legislative drafting and/or management of programmes in legislative support and law reform.
